Whatever! Wednesday – Along the Crooked Road Part 2

More photos from our little trip along the crooked road today…

An old barn that would be a great place to tell ghost stories in the fall…looks a little like an upside down jack-o-lantern to me…

Just over the hill from the barn was this idyllic scene with horses grazing by the lake with mountains in the background

Another white farm house…

with a tree limb from a recent storm…

Next door is this old abandoned house…probably a beauty in its day…

An interesting road name…

A few cows resting in the shade on this hot and humid day….

I love Ms. Cow’s face…

Here’s curly, the bull with sort of rheumy eyes… not showing the love as much as Ms. Cow.

Dry Creek Baptist Church had a good message on their sign…

A lovely little, country church with a lovely, little sign …
And the presumed source of the church and road name….a dry creek…

Big sky and green fields…

A cute little country store…

Another windy road sign…

An accurate sign….
This strange building has rocks between the logs. I don’t think I’ve ever seen this method….click on it to see the detail.

Almost home…these are the giraffes…that’s what I always think of when I see these trees covered in kudzu…you’ve heard of kudzu, haven’t you…

It was a fun little trip and a nice way to spend an hour on a sunny, summer day.

Now, if you read the part one of Along the Crooked Road, you may remember Barnsley Gardens, the golf course and the sign. Did anyone notice that the road sign was spelled wrong? Well, it was. It had an extra “e” in it..see.

Thanks for dropping by…let me know what you think of our little trip.
Blessings!

  1. It never ceases to amaze me how beautiful our country is, but of course it has its ugliness too. So glad to see you sharing the beauty of your country road sightseeing trip. Love the cows especially, and yes, I definitely know what kudzu is… here in NC, it's so prevalent.
