Whatever! Wednesday-Part 1

I have a doctor’s appointment with a new doctor today. Well, actually, he is my old, new doctor. He is a fine doctor and my husband goes to him but I hate that I have to go back ot him. You see, my just previous doctor is on indefinite medical leave. I can truthfully say that she is the best doctor that I have ever had. She has worked with me to get my cholesterol under control and my last report was Excellent. She determined that my thyroid gland was enlarged and sent me to a specialist who determined that I have a condition that needs to be periodically checked and observed but is otherwise non-threatening. She found that my right sinus cavity was completely blocked and that all those antibiotics every other doctor had been giving me for the last 30 years were doing no good at all and possibly a good bit of harm with respect to their effectiveness for me in the future. Two surgeries and many dollars later I can now breathe out of both sides of my nose.  There are quite a few other problems that she uncovered which I have now had resolved. One of which ultimately saved my life.  She has been a life saver and I miss her terribly. She waited until all of her children were through with school before she returned to school to pursue her dream of being a doctor. All of her patients love her. I cannot imagine what it was like to be in her shoes when she found that after waiting for so long and then working so hard, she has to give it up.  But to speak to her character, she has a positive outlook and has even comforted us when we were trying to comfort her. She is my friend and I love her and I am praying that God will heal her so that she can return to the practice that she loves and I can return to her care.
That’s all for now…might be back later today.

  1. Wow Vicki your past doctor sounded amazing. It really is hard to find a good doctor. We are pretty fortunate as you were as our doctor has pin pointed problems rather quickly and referred us to specialists. He too has saved us many times. I know all to well about the sinus surgery. My husband had polyps removed three times. He was so miserable before the surgeries. Also my teen daughter had cysts in her sinuses removed this past Feb. I was a nervous wreck, her first and only surgery! But she is much better now.
I am so sorry that you had to loose your doctor but maybe she will be able to come back one day. Love Di ♥
