Fingerprint Friday – Butterfly

Fingerprint Friday was started by Beki, at The Rusted Chain. It was inspired by the song by Steven Curtis Chapman that contains the line…”when I look at you, I can see the fingerprints of God.” To participate and/or visit all of the blogs that do, go to the Fingerprint Friday Post on Beki’s blog and follow the instructions.

Butterfly…again?…really?  Yes! Why?  Because

they are everywhere and they are beautiful.

Flutter by…butterfly!

“Happiness is like a butterfly which, when pursued, is always just beyond our grasp, but, if you sit down quietly may alight upon you.” Nathaniel Hawthorne

Like most fingerprints of God, butterflies are better best enjoyed when one is sitting, quietly observing, instead of chasing them down with a camera like a crazy person.  That’s why I try to do a bit of both…sitting quietly for immediate gratification and chasing down for later enjoyment.  This one did not like the chasing down bit, so I finally gave up after two shots  and simply enjoyed the fluttering by!

Now, go look around you for your own Fingerprints of God and have a lovely Friday!

  2. Oh, Vicki!!! What a beautiful photo!!! And I LOVE the quote by Hawthorne…How absolutely true!!!! So often the things we reach for and grab for allude us…but while we are pursuing life, they creep in the back door… :-)) Thank you for this beautiful reminder!!! Love you so very much!!! Janine XO

  3. My kids enjoy chasing them down like crazy people (and I've done the same with my camera, too), but you are right. Sitting and quietly enjoying them is the way to go.

And thank you, dear friend, for the heartfelt comment on my blog yesterday.
