Fingerprint Friday – Spring is Popping Out

Fingerprint Friday was started by Beki, at The Rusted Chain. It was inspired by the song by Steven Curtis Chapman that contains the line…”when I look at you, I can see the fingerprints of God.” To participate and/or visit all of the blogs that participate, go to the Fingerprint Friday post on Beki’s blog and follow the instructions.

Graceful readers, I want you to know that I went out in the wet dewy morning to shoot some photos just for you and I discovered that Spring has indeed “sprung”  in NW Georgia!.

Well, actually the first day of Spring is tomorrow but the daffodils and forsythia are blooming so, I say it is Spring!

Spring…a beautiful fingerprint of God that reminds us that just as the old things have died away with winter…

and new growth is springing fresh all over the earth,

so do we die to our old natures and become fresh new creatures, in Christ,

when we accept Him into our hearts.

1Peter 1:23 (NIV)
For you have been born again, not of perishable seed, but of imperishable, through the living and enduring word of God.

2 Corinthians 5:17(NIV)
Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!

Our small group has been studying Sanctification, part of a group of lessons on core truths of Christianity by Tom Holladay and Kay Warren.  In this week’s lesson, Tom Holloday said that “The moment you believed in Christ as your Savior, a spiritual “transaction happened that changed everything. He gives you a new life and you give Him your old one.  Most of us are familiar with the concept of  “dying in the old nature and being reborn in the new” when we  accept Jesus; but most of us in our group had never really thought of our rebirth in Christ as a “transaction.” We liked thinking of it that way…an exchange of one thing for another, a purchase, a trade…my dirty, sinful, hopeless old nature for my clean, convicted, hopeful, new nature!
I am a new creation in Christ (2 Cor 5:17), I am child of God (John 1:12), I am a joint heir with Christ (Romans 8:17) and I am chosen and dearly beloved (Col.3:12)!  Hallelujah! is what I say to that!

Have a great day…where will you see your Fingerprint of God today?
